Page 3. A silent still-life panel. A single large dark cat-shaped shadow with two pointed 'horns', a round body and a small pointed tail sits ominously on the pastel wall, lit by warm low afternoon light with a few dust motes drifting in the sunbeam. Nobody is in frame — the 'monster' simply looms there. No dialogue.

About this chapter
A huge horned shadow looms across the clubroom wall in the low afternoon sun, and Momo is certain a beast has broken into the Tiny Case Agency. She stalks the monster as it grows larger and larger, corners it, and pounces at the wall — only to find it bare. The "intruder" was Biscuit the whole time, sitting up in the sunbeam on the boxes with her ears throwing the horns. Ganta says so on page five. Momo declares she drove the beast off, closes the case, and falls asleep.
