Momo wheels around and flings one arm out toward the square window, her too-big coat flaring behind her like a cape, hem dragging on the floor. Eyebrows down, chin lifted. The theory has arrived fully formed, well ahead of any evidence. MOMO: 'The window. A break-in.'

Momo's magnifying glass has vanished, which means the Tiny Case Agency's greatest detective must work without her greatest tool — so she investigates the windowsill, a suspicious condensation ring and eventually the room itself through a circle made of her own fist. Ganta tells her exactly where it is on page five. She runs straight past him, dismantles the clubroom, and only finds the truth when a very round white cat shifts in her sleep.
