Page 13. A single wide panel, the same angle and framing as page 1, closing the loop. The clubroom is back in order. Momo lies flat out asleep on the floorboards, coat pooled around her, eyes closed in happy curves, the recovered magnifying glass hugged to her chest. The case is closed, so she is unconscious. Biscuit has gone back to sleep in her box beside her. Ganta sits on the stack of cardboard boxes with his juice box, looking down at the pair of them, and delivers the solution now that nobody is awake to argue with it. GANTA: 'You put it down to pet the cat.'

Momo's magnifying glass has vanished, which means the Tiny Case Agency's greatest detective must work without her greatest tool — so she investigates the windowsill, a suspicious condensation ring and eventually the room itself through a circle made of her own fist. Ganta tells her exactly where it is on page five. She runs straight past him, dismantles the clubroom, and only finds the truth when a very round white cat shifts in her sleep.
