Transcript

Page 12. A single panel, on the floor beside the pulled-out mini-fridge. Momo crouches over the recovered hoard, magnifying glass held loosely, staring down at the pile of pencils with enormous betrayed eyes and a tiny wobbling mouth. Biscuit sits neatly beside her, tail curled around her paws, gazing off in another direction. Utterly serene. Not sorry. MOMO: "You were innocent once."

Image description

A chibi girl crouches on the floorboards beside a large heap of recovered coloured pencils, staring at it with wide betrayed eyes, while a small round white cat sits neatly beside her looking away, entirely serene.

About this chapter

The pencil mug on the clubroom desk keeps getting lighter. Momo mounts a stakeout, loses a fight with her own eyelids, and wakes just in time to catch the thief mid-crime. This time the prime suspect is actually guilty — and there is a hoard behind the fridge to prove it.
