Why it matters. A catalogue you can only scroll is a catalogue you stop scrolling. Recommendations keep the next series you would actually enjoy one tap away.
How to use it. Read what you like and follow the series you want more of — the rail tunes itself from there. Signed-out visitors see trending and freshly published series instead, so there is always a next thing to read.
