How to start a comic, webtoon or manga series on Inkroost
Create a series, pick its reading direction, and set the style profile that keeps every page you make looking like one book.
What it is. A series is the home of your story: its title, description, genres, maturity rating, reading direction, and — most importantly — its visual style profile. Chapters and pages live inside it.
Why it matters. Two decisions you make at series creation shape everything after. The reading direction — left-to-right for Western comics and vertical-scroll webtoons, right-to-left for traditional manga — controls how readers move through your pages. The style profile is injected into every AI generation you run in this series, and it is the single biggest lever for a consistent look.
How to do it.
- Open the creator studio and choose New series.
- Give it a title and a description readers will actually see on the series page.
- Pick the reading direction your story wants. Nothing on Inkroost assumes a Japanese-style layout — all three formats are first-class.
- Choose genres and declare a maturity rating honestly; mature-rated work is age-gated for signed-out readers.
- Write the series style profile. Be specific: art style, line weight, colour treatment, background detail, mood. Vague profiles produce inconsistent art; a paragraph of concrete constraints pays for itself on every page.
Starting a series costs nothing — credits are only spent when you generate images.
