Mature series now need a free account to read
A mature-rated series no longer shows any of its pages to a logged-out visitor. The cover stays on the shelf when the cover check has cleared it; reading the chapters takes a free account and the usual age confirmation.
What changed. Every free chapter on Inkroost lets a visitor read the first few pages before asking them to log in. That preview no longer applies to series rated Mature. A logged-out visitor who opens a mature chapter sees a short notice with Log in to keep reading and Create a free account instead of the pages, and is brought straight back to that chapter after signing in. Confirming your age is still asked for once you are signed in, exactly as before.
What you still see without an account. The series page itself, with its cover when the cover check has cleared it for a public shelf, the synopsis, the chapter list and the discussion. If the check has not cleared the cover, a placeholder stands in for it until you sign in.
A fix for scroll view. Logged-out readers who switched a free chapter to Scroll sometimes saw the preview pages followed by a column of broken images. Those images were never meant to load; the reader now stops cleanly at the end of the preview.
Why. A mature rating is the creator's promise about what is inside. Showing three of those pages to anyone who clicks past a single "I am 18 or older" button did not honour that promise; an account does.
