A single panel. The sliding doors at the front glazing part and the tracksuit regular enters — a tall man with a shaved head in a grey zip-up tracksuit, carrying a clear plastic bag of empty aluminium cans. Kaito is visible, small, behind the counter. The wet street shows through the glass behind. No dialogue.

이 챕터에 대해
With Rin away at the talent agency taking meetings, Kaito works the dead hours completely alone for the first time in the series. The question sets itself before he has faced the first aisle: what is a night without a witness? He does everything right — turns the oden, refills the filters, faces the shelves, wipes a counter no one will lean on — and the sheer correctness of it is unbearable, because there is nobody to spiral at. Three times across the night he starts to say something out loud, turns to Rin's empty stool at the register, gets no reply, and answers himself: "...yeah." The tracksuit regular buys his cans and calls the night quiet; a windbreakered night worker calls the same night the busiest she has ever seen — contradictory verdicts on an empty room, and neither of them is her. He tries manufacturing a little drama for no audience and deflates; the landline rings a wrong number into the silence. Near dawn he catches himself narrating his own actions aloud to nobody — turn the oden, refill the filters — and hears it, and understands he has spent two years performing the spiral partly for a camera he pretended to resent. The empty-stool beat inverts when he turns to the stool one last time, opens his mouth, and says nothing at all. Rin comes back through the sliding doors in flat grey dawn, sits down on her stool, and says nothing whatsoever about the meeting. He does not ask. The final page mirrors the first exact camera angle: the stool that was empty all night is occupied now, and it is not the same store at all.
