Several weeks later, the tomato plant is fuller and carries several fruits. Kai crouches beside it at warm dusk and gently cups one ripe tomato in his hand, smiling with quiet surprise at what grew from the paving-stone crack.

この話について
Kai finds a tomato seedling growing improbably between two paving stones and decides not to transplant it. What begins as an experiment in leaving things alone becomes a lesson in the difference between neglect and care. As the plant grows, heat and wind test it; Kai resists the urge to optimize everything, but eventually gives the plant just enough help to survive without taking control. Weeks later, the first tomato ripens. The small harvest becomes a quiet reminder that a slow life is not passive — it is attentive.
