On aged pulp in three panels, Jack loads his cylindrical Mr. Stool cart into a pea-green 1974 Buick Apollo, closes an unknown text on his flip phone, and highlights a neon-yellow route on a paper atlas. A television behind him is black and off.
Jack asks the diner waitress about the restroom. Water overflows the toilet; he turns the valve and the restroom is marked out of order. He stays and hugs the waitress, with the pea-green Apollo outside.
At a cafe near grain silos, Jack warns a worker after an eight-pound burrito. A restroom floods around his boots as a wall pipe sprays water. An out-of-order sign goes on the door. Jack hugs the worker and gives him wads of cash.

IOWA / 02. Jack: “I had an eight pound burrito a while back and my bowels need relief, my good sir.” Worker: “I will need to keep your license during your 'transaction.' I'm sure this is not your first time.” Caption: “Things go south immediately.” Sign: OUT OF ORDER. Jack: “I own up to my mistakes.” Worker: “This is more than enough!”
