Page 6. A single panel, eye-level two-shot. Dim evening light. Momo has lost the fight. She is slumped forward over the rim of the cardboard box, cheek squashed flat against it, eyes shut, cowlick drooping, the magnifying glass dangling from one limp hand. Ganta stands beside her sipping his juice box, looking down at her with zero surprise. GANTA: "You're asleep."

About this chapter

The pencil mug on the clubroom desk keeps getting lighter. Momo mounts a stakeout, loses a fight with her own eyelids, and wakes just in time to catch the thief mid-crime. This time the prime suspect is actually guilty — and there is a hoard behind the fridge to prove it.
