Only the top of her head, her cowlick and her enormous narrowed amber eyes show over the rim, magnifying glass held up beside her face. Across the room, the low desk and the pencil mug sit in her line of sight. Biscuit dozes in her box nearby. MOMO: "Stakeout. Begin."

About this chapter
The pencil mug on the clubroom desk keeps getting lighter. Momo mounts a stakeout, loses a fight with her own eyelids, and wakes just in time to catch the thief mid-crime. This time the prime suspect is actually guilty — and there is a hoard behind the fridge to prove it.
