Keep long-story preparation moving
Inky now refreshes its saved progress on every preparation step and can recover with smaller internal parts when a story draft stalls.
What changed. Long-story preparation now carries the current saved page count, next part, last scenes and remaining pages into every step. Resuming a worker refreshes its starting context rather than reusing an old progress snapshot.
Keep working on the plan. While preparation is active, Inky requests tool work instead of accepting another promise to continue. A model that returns only prose can fall back to the next configured model. Preparation keeps its tools available at a worker boundary and continues internally.
Recover without cutting the story. A rejected part triggers smaller internal chunks, with the error available to guide the next attempt. The requested total, dialogue and panel detail stay part of the task. Correcting a saved part counts as progress; saving the same part again does not. A stopped preparation no longer carries a contradictory “done” status line.
Original stories have a draft, not an uploaded manuscript. Inky can now read unfinished saved scenes directly before continuing them. When no manuscript is stored, it is told that clearly instead of being sent back to an invalid reading position.
