The shapes hold in the beam. Waiting. Day 43: They rise to it.. Day 43: Do not burn it bright on moonless nights. Elias: If I dim it... will they leave? His hand turns the valve down.

About this chapter
Elias begins his first day as the keeper of the lighthouse, discovering the strange properties of the light and the isolation of the island. He finds an old journal that hints at a mystery regarding the previous keeper.
