文字記錄

PAGE 14 At a night camp, Merel and Adai argue about whether distance and land should be fixed or responsive. VISIBLE TEXT: Where I’m from, distance is a fixed number. Always the same. Fixed. Forever? Forever. What a nasty idea. Land isn’t a mood. It’s a measurement.

圖片說明

Merel and Adai sit across a night campfire beside the road, discussing maps and measurement while Adai reacts with bafflement and mild distaste.

關於本章

Merel Vosberg measures a four-and-a-half-metre land dispute in a Dutch polder and sees the world refuse her instrument. The flat farmland becomes Orran, a vast mountain world where Adai, a blind route-singer, guides roads by listening rather than measuring. Merel tests notebooks, paces, cairns, and road mood before reaching Ninefold, where impossible geography suddenly becomes exact.
