Panel 1: In the warm kitchen doorway, LIZZIE BENNET steers MRS. BENNET out of the room with one hand at her mother's arm, patient and immovable. Mrs. Bennet protests over her shoulder, phone in hand. LYDIA and KITTY trail after them, craning back toward the living room. MRS. BENNET: 'I was only going to offer him cake!' Panel 2: LIZZIE stands against the now-closed kitchen door, one hand still on the handle, the other in her pocket, wearing a small and extremely satisfied smirk. LIZZIE: 'Nobody move for ten minutes.'
