Jack calls on his clamshell flip phone at the potato-themed Spud Valley Motel counter and asks about plumbing. In the bathroom the pipe knocks and a lamp flickers. The clerk calls a plumber; a guest sees a South Dakota fossil museum post beside the parked Apollo.
