Transcript

Page 8. A silent close-up of Biscuit, the very round white cat, sitting up serenely on top of the cardboard boxes directly in the warm sunbeam from the square window. Both her ears are pricked up like little points, her big dark eyes half-open and blinking calmly, a hint of the sunbeam glowing around her. She is plainly the source of the horned shadow, sitting in full view. No dialogue.

About this chapter

A huge horned shadow looms across the clubroom wall in the low afternoon sun, and Momo is certain a beast has broken into the Tiny Case Agency. She stalks the monster as it grows larger and larger, corners it, and pounces at the wall — only to find it bare. The "intruder" was Biscuit the whole time, sitting up in the sunbeam on the boxes with her ears throwing the horns. Ganta says so on page five. Momo declares she drove the beast off, closes the case, and falls asleep.
