Page 13. A single wide panel, the same slightly high angle and framing as page 1, closing the loop. The clubroom is quiet again. Momo lies flat out asleep on the floorboards, coat pooled around her, eyes closed in happy curves, hugging her recovered magnifying glass — and beside her sits the pudding cup, now empty and scraped clean, with the spoon lying next to it. She solved the case, so she ate the pudding and fell asleep. Biscuit dozes in her open box; Ganta sits on the stack of cardboard boxes with his juice box, looking down at the sleeping detective and delivering the verdict now that nobody is awake to argue. GANTA: 'You ate the evidence.'

Image description

Wide closing view matching the opening: a chibi girl lies fast asleep on the clubroom floor hugging her magnifying glass, an empty scraped-clean pudding cup and spoon beside her, while a chibi boy in a cat-ear hoodie sips his juice box on the boxes and a white cat sleeps in an open box.

About this chapter

A pudding cup nobody bought appears on the clubroom desk — and the next afternoon another one is back. Momo is certain a rival detective is leaving calling cards and follows a trail of tiny pudding drips across the floorboards to crack the case. The trail leads to Ganta, who gets a free pudding with lunch every day and hates pudding. Unable to admit she was wrong, Momo declares the case closed, eats the evidence, and falls asleep.
