Three panels in a warm living room: Mrs. Bennet declares victory with her hands clasped, Mr. Bennet answers drily from his armchair, and Jane stands by the window insisting it has nothing to do with her while Lizzie watches.

Transcript

Panel 1: MRS. BENNET, 52, grey-streaked dark hair, floral blouse and a beaded necklace, stands in the cluttered living room in full triumph, hands clasped in front of her chest, eyes shining. MRS. BENNET: 'He has come back for Jane. I always said so.' Panel 2: MR. BENNET, 58, grey hair receding at the temples, reading glasses pushed up on his forehead, brown cardigan over a checked shirt, sits deep in his green armchair with a tablet on his knee, one eyebrow raised. MR. BENNET: 'He has come back for a house he pays rent on.' Panel 3: JANE BENNET stands very straight by the window in the warm light, wearing her polite smile, one hand quietly steadying the other. Behind her LIZZIE watches with her arms folded, entirely unconvinced. JANE: 'It's really nothing to do with me.'
