Page 8. A single panel, high angle over the low wooden desk. Momo is up on tiptoe at the edge of the desk, magnifying glass held out over the wood. There, pressed into the grain, is one small caramel-smeared paw print. Beside it sit the green notebook and the mug of pencils. Her amber eyes blaze. Her cowlick stands straight up. One tiny fist is clenched at her chest. MOMO: "A print. Case closed."

About this chapter

The Tiny Case Agency's first official case: one pudding cup, purchased and refrigerated by Momo herself, is gone. She has a crumb trail, a prime suspect in a cat-ear hoodie, a paw print, and absolute certainty. Ganta has a juice box and one very short answer. The trail leads somewhere Momo really does not want it to lead.
