Kirbyism, a new American comic style
A sixteenth style preset draws in the tradition of Jack Kirby's cosmic comics, with crackling energy dots, blocky hands and fists thrown straight at the reader. Pick it under American comic, or tell Inky you want it drawn like Kirby.
What shipped. Kirbyism joins the American comic family next to Superhero, Noir, Golden Age and Graphic novel. It draws in the tradition of Jack Kirby's 1960s and 1970s cosmic comics: crackling clusters of black energy dots around every burst of power, heavy angular blacks, blocky anatomy with square jaws and squared-off hands, extreme foreshortening, and loud flat four-colour print on newsprint. The picture above shows the same scene drawn as Superhero (left) and as Kirbyism (right).
Where to find it. The Kirbyism card sits with the other American comic cards under Series info and in the drawing door, with a sample page like every other preset. Tell Inky you want it "drawn like Jack Kirby" or "in the Kirbyism style" and it picks this look without asking. If you work through an AI assistant, the preset is named kirbyism.
