Wide night shot of a spotless 24-hour convenience store; Kaito stands mid-aisle holding a cleaning cloth, satisfied, while Rin leans on the register on her phone.
A single fly buzzes past Kaito's face; his eyes snap to it on an empty shelf. Rin, unbothered, says the doors open at six.
Kaito rolls a blank flyer into a baton and brandishes it like a sword; Rin raises her phone to film. A close-up shows the fly grooming on a shelf.
Kaito freezes with the rolled flyer raised over the fly on a shelf, swings and shouts, then stares flatly at the empty shelf, having missed.
A salaryman enters; the fly lands on his shoulder; Kaito sneaks up and swings at him, smacking the startled customer, then apologizes.
Rin films the affronted salaryman leaving and comments; Kaito scans the ceiling; the fly sits smugly on the round ceiling speaker.
Kaito freezes with the flyer raised over the fly on the register counter, swings, knocks the drawer open and scatters pens; the fly is already gone.
The tracksuit regular enters with his bag of cans; Kaito demands whether he's seen the fly; the man gives cryptic advice; Rin calls it wisdom.
Kaito slumps against a shelf delivering an existential monologue about the one fly in his perfect store; Rin flatly notes it just flew in.
Kaito sits exhausted on the stool; the fly has landed on the tip of his nose and he stares at it, cross-eyed.
Kaito chases the fly across the store in a slapstick rampage, knocking over shelves and tangling with a mop; Rin films the wreckage.
A university student suggests turning off the lights to send the fly to the window; Kaito tries it but the fly sits on his flyer; Rin says gran lied.
Kaito freezes with the flyer raised over the fly on the cooler glass, now trembling and sweating; he swings and misses again.
Rin lowers her phone and tells Kaito he's the only one who'd fight this hard over nothing; he asks if it's a compliment; she says no, it's content.
Dawn light; Kaito crouches with the flyer raised, wearing a calm, serene smile, having finally cornered the fly against the glass by the doors.
Kaito's hand sweeps down toward the fly just as the automatic doors slide open at dawn and the fly drifts out on its own.
Kaito stares hollowly out the open doors; Rin shows him her phone and says 400,000 people watched him lose to a fly.
Daylight; the spotless store mirrors page one, Kaito back in his spot with the cloth — but a second fly is drifting in through the open doors.

3 A.M. Kaito has just finished cleaning the dead-hours store to a spotless, silent perfection — and then a single fly gets in through the sliding doors. Unable to tolerate the one flaw in his immaculate kingdom, he arms himself with a tightly rolled blank flyer and declares total war on the intruder, even as Rin flatly points out the doors will simply open at dawn and let it out on its own. Across the shift the fly evades every swing, lands on a salaryman mid-swat, shrugs off the tracksuit regular's absurd advice, and drives Kaito into an existential spiral about the single imperfection in his perfect world — each failed attempt landing on the same dead-eyed beat of Kaito frozen with his weapon raised. Rin films all of it as 'Man vs Fly,' with one flicker of near-sincerity before going back to her phone. Near dawn Kaito finally, calmly corners the fly against the cooler glass with a serene smile for the first time all night... and the morning-delivery doors slide open, and the fly drifts out into the dawn on its own, exactly as Rin promised. Kaito gets nothing; Rin's six-hour stream wins the internet. He stands in the spotless daylight store, right where he began — and a second fly drifts in through the open door.

Page 1

Establishing shot from the sliding doors looking down the bright, empty aisles of a convenience store at 3 A.M., a dark street outside the windows. Kaito, in his striped store apron with a KAITO name tag, stands in the middle of the aisle holding a cleaning cloth, quietly pleased with the immaculate store. Rin, in a hoodie under her apron with a RIN name tag, leans on the register in the background, absorbed in her phone. Kaito: ...Perfect.

Page 2

Panel 1: Close on Kaito's content face as one small black fly buzzes in near his head. Panel 2: Kaito's head snaps around, eyes wide, locked onto the fly now resting on an empty shelf. Kaito: ...A fly. Panel 3: Rin at the register, not looking up from her phone; Kaito stands rigid behind her. Rin: Doors open at six. It'll leave on its own. Kaito: It's in my store.

Page 3

Panel 1: Kaito tightly rolls a blank paper flyer into a slim baton, his resolve hardening. Kaito: Not on my shift. Panel 2: He brandishes the rolled flyer upright like a sword. Kaito: This store is a sealed system. One flaw. One. Panel 3: Rin raises her phone to film him, smirking. Rin: Going live. 'Man versus Fly.' Panel 4: Extreme close-up of a single housefly calmly grooming its legs on the edge of a shelf, oblivious.

Page 4

Panel 1: The signature beat — Kaito frozen in a tense half-crouch, the rolled blank flyer raised high, dead-eyed stare fixed on the fly perched on a shelf. Panel 2: He swings the flyer down hard; the fly is already lifting away untouched. Kaito: HA! Panel 3: Kaito stares flatly at the empty shelf, the flyer still pressed against it. Kaito: ...Missed.

Page 5

Panel 1: The sliding doors open and a tired salaryman in a loose suit steps in; the fly drifts toward him. Panel 2: The fly lands on the salaryman's shoulder; Kaito creeps up behind him, flyer raised. Kaito (thinking): Hold still. Hold... still... Panel 3: Kaito swings at the shoulder; the salaryman spins around, alarmed. Salaryman: WHAT are you— Kaito: Don't move, sir— Panel 4: The flyer smacks the salaryman's shoulder; the fly is already gone; Kaito freezes, mortified. Kaito: ...My apologies.

Page 6

Panel 1: Rin pans her phone from the departing salaryman toward Kaito. Rin: He just assaulted a salaryman. For the bit. Panel 2: Kaito, breathing hard, tips his head back to scan the ceiling. Kaito: Where. Where did it— Panel 3: Low angle up at the ceiling: the fly perched on the single round white ceiling speaker. Rin: Chat says it's winning.

Page 7

Panel 1: The signature beat again — Kaito frozen in the same tense half-crouch, flyer raised, staring at the fly perched on the register counter. Panel 2: He swings at the counter; the register drawer pops open and a cup of pens scatters; the fly is already gone. Rin films from across the counter. Kaito: ...Not there either.

Page 8

Panel 1: The sliding doors open; the tracksuit regular — tall, shaved head, grey tracksuit, clear plastic bag of empty cans — steps in. Panel 2: Kaito wheels around and points the flyer at him like an accusation. Kaito: You. Have you seen a fly. Panel 3: The regular considers the question seriously. Regular: You can't kill it. Panel 4: Close on his calm, sage face. Regular: You have to make it want to leave. Panel 5: Kaito stares, deflated; beside him Rin films. Kaito: ...What does that mean. Rin: Wisdom.

Page 9

Panel 1: Kaito slumps against a shelf, staring wearily across the store. Kaito: One fly. In a perfect, sealed, spotless room. Panel 2: Close on his hollow, tired eyes. Kaito: I cleaned every surface. It was flawless. Panel 3: The fly does a lazy loop in the air. Kaito (thinking): And it chose me. Panel 4: Rin, filming, unbothered. Rin: Or it flew in. Like a fly. Panel 5: Kaito rounds on her, intense. Kaito: Nothing 'just' happens at 3 A.M., Rin. Panel 6: Rin, half-lidded, the tiniest smirk. Rin: It kind of does, though.

Page 10

A single wide panel: Kaito sits slumped on the stool behind the counter, the rolled flyer limp in his hand and his shoulders sagging. The fly has landed on the very tip of his nose, and he has gone dead still, staring cross-eyed at it. Rin is faint in the background, on her phone. Kaito: ...You have got to be kidding.

Page 11

Panel 1: Kaito lunges off the stool, swinging the flyer. Kaito: COME BACK HERE. Panel 2: He swings across a snack aisle, knocking packages flying. Panel 3: He clambers over the hot-food counter after the fly. Kaito: I have you— Panel 4: The fly zigzags past the drink cooler; Kaito skids after it. Kaito: —I do NOT have you— Panel 5: He ends up tangled with a floor mop, flyer still raised. Panel 6: Wide shot of the wrecked, once-spotless store; Kaito panting on the floor; Rin calmly filming. Rin: New personal record. Six aisles.

Page 12

Panel 1: The doors open; a sleepy student with a backpack steps in and takes in the mess. Student: ...Rough night? Panel 2: The student offers advice, miming with cupped hands. Student: My gran says: turn off the lights. They go to the window. Panel 3: Kaito flips the light switch and the store dims — but the fly is sitting on his rolled flyer, ignoring the window. Kaito: ...It's on my weapon. Panel 4: Rin in the dimness, phone glow on her face. Rin: Gran lied to you.

Page 13

Panel 1: The signature beat a third time — Kaito frozen in the same half-crouch, flyer raised, staring at the fly on the glowing cooler glass, but now visibly trembling with a sweat drop. Panel 2: He swings; the fly lifts away; his flyer squeaks down the cooler glass, reflecting his defeated face. Kaito: ...Six years. I've never lost to a shift.

Page 14

Panel 1: Rin lowers her phone and actually looks at Kaito. Rin: Hey. Kaito. Panel 2: A rare, almost-soft, sincere expression. Rin: You're the only person alive who'd fight this hard over nothing. Panel 3: Kaito, caught off guard, quietly touched. Kaito: ...Is that a compliment? Panel 4: Rin, already back behind her phone, filming again. Rin: No. It's content. Kaito: ...Right.

Page 15

A single large panel: the signature beat inverted. Kaito is in the same raised-flyer half-crouch, but his face is now utterly calm and serene, a small confident smile. The fly sits cornered on the glass by the sliding doors. The first grey-blue light of dawn shows in the windows. Kaito: There you are.

Page 16

Panel 1: Kaito's hand sweeps the flyer down in a slow, certain arc toward the cornered fly. Panel 2: At that exact instant the automatic doors slide open with a ding onto the dawn, a delivery crate outside; the fly drifts calmly out through the doorway. Kaito: —no— Rin: Six o'clock. Panel 3: Kaito's hand closes on empty air; he stares out at the open door and the sunrise. Kaito: ...It just... left.

Page 17

Panel 1: Kaito stands frozen, flyer lowered at his side, staring out the open doors at the dawn. Panel 2: Rin flips her phone around to face him. Rin: Four hundred thousand people watched you lose to a fly. Panel 3: Kaito, dead inside, deadpan. Kaito: I almost had it. Panel 4: Rin turns away, back to her phone. Rin: You had six hours. Kaito: ...I know.

Page 18

The final panel mirrors page one exactly, but in pale daylight: the store is spotless again and Kaito stands in the same mid-aisle spot holding the cleaning cloth, exhausted but composed, with Rin at the register on her phone. The one thing changed: a second small black fly is drifting in through the open sliding doors behind him, unnoticed. Rin: Behind you.
